JavaScript question detail

How do you trim a string in javascript

JavaScript provided a trim method on string types to trim any whitespaces present at the beginning or ending of the string.

" Hello World ".trim(); //Hello World

If your browser(<IE9) doesn't support this method then you can use below polyfill.

if (!String.prototype.trim) {
(function () {
// Make sure we trim BOM and NBSP
var rtrim = /^[\s\uFEFF\xA0]+|[\s\uFEFF\xA0]+$/g;
String.prototype.trim = function () {
return this.replace(rtrim, "");
};
})();
}
